In preparation for the fall move-in period, Boldyn will perform a necessary firmware upgrade to the network infrastructure. The firmware upgrade is scheduled for Monday, July 27 from 5am – 11am EST.
A student notification will be communicated by COB Wednesday, July 22.

To address outstanding security vulnerabilities, we will be performing network maintenance in Massanutten Hall, JMAC 1, 983 Reservoir Street, and 1603/1599/1595/1593 S. Main Street on Sunday, September 6th starting at 6am. This will affect all wired and wireless connectivity in these buildings during the maintenance (excluding data center).

Campus-Wide Network Maintenance - Sunday, September 13th 6am-12pm Sep 13, 2026 06:00-12:00 EDT
On Sunday, September 13th between 6am and 12pm, the JMU wired networks will be upgraded. This will affect all network connectivity (wired and wireless) across campus as the rolling upgrades are performed.
Please note that the Boldyn network in the dorms, the public facing wireless network at AUBC, and the JMU data center networks will not be affected during the upgrades.
Additionally, the following buildings will not be affected during this maintenance: 983 Reservoir, 1603, 1599, 1595, and 1593 S. Main Street, JMAC 1, and Massanutten Hall.

Campus-Wide Wireless Network Maintenance - Sunday, September 20th 6am-10am Sep 20, 2026 06:00-10:00 EDT
On Sunday, September 20th between 6am and 10am, the JMU wireless networks will be upgraded to address security vulnerabilities. The maintenance will impact the JMU wireless networks campus-wide. During this time, wired network connections will still be functional and uninterrupted.
Please note this will not affect the public facing wireless network at AUBC or the Boldyn wireless network throughout the dorms.
